It's been a busy quarter! An outing to the Waco Zoo with Angel and Penelope was a lot of fun, though we mostly got shots of the backs of their heads. Penelope turned three, and we had a blast celebrating with her. Then there was a trip to Tennessee, to see the grandparents and our long-lost friends still living in the benighted East. We met Nicole and Daniel's own new rug rat, Draevyn! He and Austen worked out some plans for global domination together.
Then there was the Red Shirt Party, courtesy of Amanda and Mary, where everyone brought a unique way for a red shirt to meet his (mostly "her", actually) fate. Christie chose death by Ceti Alpha eel; Christopher ate replicated salmon mousse; I had a transporter accident (would have been awesome if we'd had enough glitter). Tristan had his own transporter accident.
Tristan's speech is fully caught up with the norm for his age, with those pesky Ss and Ls fully articulated (when he makes an effort, anyway). He's climbing more than ever, and running like a pro. His latest thing is wanting to re-create Lego, Potato Head, or block towers exactly as illustrated - who'd have expected OCD from our child?!
Austen is making very rapid progress, starting on solid foods with great enthusiasm. His first couple of teeth are out, and he can turn around, roll over, support himself sitting, and almost crawl. He's ticklish, and smiles and laughs a lot. He finds almost everything Tristan does to be hilarious, and desperately wants to participate in all of his play (Tristan is not so keen).
